Bob Smith, 55 of Saltillo, Tennessee departed this life May 28, 2008. He was born in Hardin County in the Saltillo area on May 3, 1953 to his father Willie Alic Smith and his mother Reba T. (Clayton) Smith both preceded him in death. He went to school at Saltillo and Sardis. He was married to Kathy Dianne Richardson on December 12th, 1970. They had 4 children Penny Clenney and a Son in Law Brian, Kevin, Ashley, and Cody Smith all of Saltillo. He has one sister Sarah C. Clayton, one brother Jimmy and his wife Sally Smith all of Saltillo and one deceased brother Billy. Bob had 2 grandchildren Cade “shepdog” Durham of Saltillo, TN, and Angel Marie Smith, deceased.
He was deeply loved by his many in-laws, Debbie and Randy Brown of Sardis, TN, Denny and Shelia Richardson of Reagan, TN, Donna Ponds, deceased, Denise and Johnny King of Bath Springs, TN, Lisa and Roy Wilkerson and David Creasy of Crump, TN, Sarah Kelley, Leslie Richardson, and mother in law Geraldine Richardson and all of Little Rock, Arkansas, and father in law Grady Richardson, deceased.
He also had a whole host of nieces and nephews Toni Michelle Smith, deceased, Sean and wife Michelle Smith, Keith and wife Jody Smith all of Saltillo, Jeremy and Margie Brown of Pensacola, Florida, Amy and Michael Gregg of Brentwood, TN, Christie and Steven Jones, Mandy and Brian Clenny all of Reagan, TN, Brandon and Kasey Creasy, Josh Creasy, Tabitha and Matt Kiddy, and Katie Ponds all of Savannah, TN, Brandy Johnson of Bath Springs, TN, Heath and Teresa Creasy of Adamsville, TN, Heather Creasy and Jarrod Hurley of Counce, TN, Candy and Randy Wilkerson of Crump, TN, Talon and Allison Creasy, Samantha Meek, and Jessica Creasy all of Savannah Tommy, Lynn, and Kandie Kelley of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Bob also had great nieces and nephews Chase and Toni Smith of Saltillo, TN, Trevor, Raven and Tristian Jones, and Ripken Clenny all of Reagan, TN, Noah and Ava Creasy and Anna Baughn of Savannah, TN, Garret “Frankie” and Emily Funderburk, and Levi Simpson of Baths Springs, TN, Riley Creasy of Crump, TN, Brennan Wilkerson, deceased, and Macey Meeks of Savannah, TN, and Liza Richardson of Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was an avid duck hunter and outdoorsman, and a well liked man in the community and county. He loved to karaoke and make people laugh. He owned and operated Construction Services and Paving for 25 years and worked on a tow boat for 3 years and was in law enforcement for several years. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and members of the communities. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery in Saltillo, Tennessee.
